Effects of dietary supplementation of ginger, garlic and onion on semen profile, haematological and serum antioxidant status of rabbit bucks raised in the dry season of the humid tropic

Purpose: The study evaluated the semen, haematological and antioxidant status of rabbit bucks fed ginger, garlic onion supplemented diets under a severely heat stressed condition. This is to evaluate effect stress spice supplementation on seminal parameters, haematology capacity buck raised in tropics. Research method: Fifty - five were allotted 11 treatments comprising control diet, three each at 5g, 10g 15g/kg feed plus positive diet. Seminal, traits their pen's Temperature – Humidity index (THI) observed for 8 weeks. Findings: THI (29.30 31.10°C) recorded during indicated prevalence severe very stress. Heat impacted negatively more sperm morphology than other parameters. Sperm cell motility, viability abnormality similar within groups controls. Semen volume concentration highest animals 10 respectively. Spice had no significant (p>0.05) total (TAC) experimental animals. Originality/value: concluded that mitigated was not deleterious TAC bucks.
